GALERI is a platform founded by Colombia-born Juan García with the purpose of promoting and bringing visibility to Latin American contemporary art within the broader art scene of the United States.
Through rigorously curated exhibitions, interdisciplinary collaborations, and the sale of selected artworks, GALERI supports artists whose practices are deeply rooted in their cultural heritage while engaging with the social and political dimensions of their contexts.
Based in New York for the past seven years, Juan García discovered his passion for art early on at home, surrounded by his father’s collection of paintings by masters such as Van Gogh, Goya, Picasso, and Kandinsky, among others.
Upon arriving in New York, he realized that art would become a central part of his life. His curiosity and sensibility led him to take part in private exhibitions, collaborate with galleries, and contribute to projects that today inspire GALERI’s mission: to build bridges between Latin America and the world through contemporary art.
